Clay - building material all over the world! The first connections between the Indian Design Architects PDSA, the WEM partners Lehmoase and WEM were made on the occasion of fairs and projects based on the clay issue. Then a delegation of investors, architects and technicians from India came to Germany to examine the characteristics and qualities of the clay heating and cooling panels. After also visiting WEM equipped reference hotels to test the room climate, the decision was made to install the WEM Climate Panels and WEM clay plaster in the new-built luxury hotel Taj Theog Resort and Spa Shimla in the Himalayas in India.
The decision-makers valued the advantages of radiant heating and cooling of the hotel rooms versus conventional air conditioning. The very comfortable room climate provided by the clay panels was to be one of the positive assets of the hotel.
The luxury hotel with the wonderful view over the Himalaya mountains welcomes also many guests from the nearby New-Delhi. The hotel guests benefit not only from the delicately designed rooms mirroring local patterns and designs, but also from vast and attractive outdoor facilities.
All 83 hotel rooms and suites are equipped with the WEM Climate Wall for heating and cooling.
Planning and design of the hotel rooms was effected by PSDA with its head Pradeep Sachdeva.
The climate panel installation work on site was guided and accompanied by the colleagues from LehmOase, Carina Simons and Wilhem Menting, long-term WEM partners with experience in working in India.
